So for a little while I lost motivation to write, Which doesn’t surprise me, it seems when I find something I like. I love it for a short time, and then it falls in the back burner. Might even be one of my biggest character flaws I see in my self.
That being said, its been 3 months since my last post, which didn’t bother me too much, I didn’t think I had any readers, being a brand new blogger, and then this morning I was laying in bed thinking about getting up for the day, being my 2nd day off I was enjoying sleeping in till 10 AM, and wordpress says “You have a comment” and I was like “Oh really?” And it was a reader telling me he needs more posts from me. Well if that wasn’t the kick start motivation a person needed to throw out some more posts…
November 2018, Remembrance Day.
I always think of my Great Grandma this entire month. She is 94 and a WWII Veteran. She never went overseas, Stayed in Alberta and BC most of the time, Doing Welding, which I thought was really cool.
So On Remembrance Day, For the first time in the may years of me living in this town I got to finally participate in their Celebration. EMS, Fire, RCMP, Veterans, Current serving Military, All get together and we do a big Parade down the main street, then we all meet at the legion for a big lunch. It was a great thing to be a part of.
One thing that annoyed me, still does to this day, and Im sure it does for many of you.
Remembrance day in every store goes until November 11th, November 12, Christmas. Decorations and Christmas Music.
Its much too early for that.
So I Discovered Netflix has a new Original Series out “Metal of Honour”
What a Fantastic Show. If you never heard of it, it is essentially a documentary with real life accounts and recreations of the missions these people were on that received the Metal of Honour. What makes it so significant is, since WWI only 3500 people to date have received the metal of honour. So the episodes range from WWI to Afghanistan. So over the next 2 weeks I watched one episode here and there throughout the rest of November as my own way to Remember those during this month of Remembrance.
Another good Christmas with family.
Thankfully another Christmas with my Dad. Up until a few years ago, I never thought “This one might be our last with him.” Would be something I need to think about on a regular basis.
His health isn’t the best, he still Smokes, as much as it grinds my gears, but hey, he almost died once, do what you want, if it makes you feel better, so be it. As fast as he almost left us 2 years ago, it could happen again, when your least expecting it.
